The SSCP Annual Awards

Nomination: 

  1. Awards shall be limited to ONE recipient per award per year.
  2. Submission not meeting the minimum requirements will not be considered.
  3. Nominations can be made by any active SSCP member or via self-nomination.

Selection Process:

  1. The committee members will review each application and decide on the merits and compliance with award criteria according to a unified rubric.
  2. Committee members will then provide the committee (Co) Chairs with comments and a rank order of the top three (3) candidates for deserving of the award.
  3. The (Co) Chair of the Nominations Committee will present the ranked lists of the top three (3) nominees and will choose the one recipient for each award to the SSCP Board members.
  4. The SSCP President will notify the recipients of each award.
  5. The awards will be presented at the SSCP annual meeting each year.
 
 
 

 

SSCP Lifetime Achievement Award

  • Description: The SSCP Lifetime Achievement Award is intended to recognize a SSCP member or an affiliated member who has contributed extensively to the clinical pharmacy profession and to the advancement of clinical pharmacy practice during their career or at least for the past 15 years.
  • Eligibility:
    • Must be a working member or an affiliated member of the SSCP.
    • Sustained high levels of contributions in practice, research, education, and service for at least the past 15 years.
    • Current SSCP Board Members are ineligible for this award.
  • Criteria:
    • Members nominated for this award will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
      • Provides leadership within the scope of designated specialty.
      • Sustained high levels of contributions related to practice, education, research, service, and/or advocacy.
      • Has credentials consistent with designated specialty Pharmacotherapy practice
      • Residency Contribution.
  • Submission: Please ensure to include the following sections in your upload CV:
    • Leadership at the Institutional, National or International Levels: 
      • List the names of the committees you served in as a leader/chair within the scope of designated specialty in clinical pharmacy.
      • List the names of the committees you served in as amember within the scope of designated specialty in clinical pharmacy.
    • Contribution to Practice:
      • list your contributions related to practice, education, research, service, and/or advocacy.
      • Example:
        1. Publication supporting clinical practice, education, service, or advocacy in the profession of pharmacy.
        2. Peer-reviewed publications contributing to pharmacotherapy knowledge. 
        3. Local, regional, or national or international clinical practice awards.  
        4. Involvement in national or international committee related to advancing clinical pharmacy. practice, pharmacy education, pharmacy research, or pharmacy advocacy.
      • Credentials 
        • List your credentials be consistent with designated specialty Pharmacotherapy practice 
        • Board Certification: eg BCPS, BCCCP...etc
        • Fellowships: eg: FCCP, FACC...etc
      • Residency Contribution 
        • List your contribution in terms of, directing program, number of specialized and general trained residents.
      • Your SCFHS Registration Number.
 

 

SSCP Distinguished Clinical Practice Award

  • Description: To recognize excellence in pharmacy clinical practice by an active member or an affiliated member of the SSCP.  
  • Eligibility:
    • Must be a working member or an affiliated member of the SSCP.
    • Sustained high levels of contributions related to practice, research, education, service and/or advocacy.
    • Current SSCP Board Members are ineligible for this award.
  • Criteria: Members nominated for this award will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
  • Submission: Please ensure to include the following sections in your upload CV:
    • Excellence in meeting the following standards of professional performance articulated by SSCP:
      • List your contribution in innovative care models which advanced the practice of pharmacy (e.g. development of new clinical programs, clinical guidelines..etc) at the institutional, national or international levels.
      • List your contribution in developing and evaluating pharmacotherapeutic protocols at the institutional, national or international levels. 
      • List your contribution in implementing change that improves clinical pharmacy practice at the institutional, national or international levels.
    • Contributions to the professional development of peers, colleagues, and others with 2 or more of the following:
      • List your contribution in chairing sessions in national or international conferences. 
      • List your contribution as speaker in national or international conferences. 
      • List your contribution to continuing education of pharmacists and other health care professionals.
      • List your contribution in taking part in symposia, workshops, or innovative training programs in pharmacotherapy.
      • List your contribution mentorship or preceptorship of students, residents, or peers.
    • External recognition of scholarship in the area of designated specialty pharmacotherapy such as:
      • List your contribution in publishing peer-reviewed and other publications.
      • List your scholarships or grants.
      • List your awards.
    • Your SCFHS Registration Number if available

SSCP Distinguished Junior Investigator Award (in practice < 10 years)

  • Description: To recognize outstanding research in the area of the designated pharmacotherapy/pharmacy practice of a SSCP member or an affiliated member early in his/her career. 
  • Eligibility:
    • The nominee must be an active member or an affiliated member of the SSCP.
    • Less than 10 years research experience from their most advanced post-graduate training.
    • Outstanding contribution or scientific expertise in a distinct area of the designated specialty research.
    • A minimum of 3 original scientific publication in a peer-reviewed journal.
    • Evidence of receiving grant funding for research if applicable.
    • Current SSCP Board Members are ineligible for this award.
  • Submission: Please ensure to include the following sections in your upload CV:
    • List your funding and grants records. 
    • List your publication record.
    • List your published and unpublished abstract record.
    • List other forms of scholarship related to the area of research (i.e., textbook chapters, etc.).
    • List any obtained awards for outstanding contributions in research.
    • Your SCFHS Registration Number if available.

SSCP Distinguished Senior Investigator Award (in practice > 10 years)

  • Description: To recognize significant and long-lasting research contributions to the field of designated specialty pharmacotherapy/pharmacy practice and clinical pharmacy by an active member or an affiliated member of the SSCP.
  • Eligibility:
    • The nominee must be an active member or an affiliated member of the SSCP.
    • Nominee must be considered an expert or leader in their field of research with a record of 10 years or more independent research.
    • Outstanding contribution or scientific expertise in a distinct area of designated specialty research in clinical pharmacotherapy.
    • At least 10 original scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals as a primary or corresponding author.
    • Evidence of being the recipient of competitive grant funding on a national level.
    • Demonstrate dedication to mentorship and sponsorship of junior investigators and clinicians.
    • Current SSCP Board Members are ineligible for this award.
  • Submission: Please ensure to include the following sections in your upload CV:
    • List your funding and grants records. 
    • List your publication record.
    • List your published and unpublished abstract record.
    • List other forms of scholarship related to the area of research (i.e., textbook chapters, etc.).
    • List any obtained awards for outstanding contributions in research.

SSCP Distinguished Paper of the Year Award

  • To recognize a distinguished contribution to the biomedical literature that is relevant to the field of clinical pharmacy. The award will be given annually to the primary and senior authors of important published research during the calendar year preceding the nomination deadline.
  • Eligibility:

    1. The nominee must be an active member or an affiliated member of the SSCP.
    2. Paper published in literature during the calendar year preceding nomination deadline.
    3. For the paper to be counted, the author applying for the award must be a primary, corresponding, or senior author.
    4. Current SSCP Board Members are ineligible for this award.
  • Submission: Please ensure to include the published paper in the submssion section.
