The Greater Baton Rouge Association of REALTORS® Commercial Investment Division (CID) is an organization established in 1982 by a small group of REALTORS® and appraisers to bring those individuals and companies who work with commercial real estate closer together to share information and knowledge so that all can prosper. CID has been awarded the prestigious Commercial Services Accreditation award, acknowledging local and state REALTOR® associations for their commitment to providing commercial services, engaging commercial members within the association, and developing the association as a voice and resource for commercial real estate in the local market. In 2019, the CID of the Greater Baton Rouge Association of REALTORS® has achieved the highest level of Five (5) Star ACE; being one of only 10 in the Nation to achieve this award.

ADVOCACY

ADVOCACY

• CID advocates for local and state policies that benefit the commercial real estate. In 2019 these efforts prevented the Livingston Parish Metro Council from passing an ordinance, which would require REALTORS® to disclose issues about the property they did not know gotten from the owner. REALTORS® would have been subject to a $500 fine or ten days in jail if it had passed. Also assisted in the passage of ordinance amendment makes it easier and less expensive for owners to lease residential and commercial properties. Amendment changed the process of getting sewer inspections done when changing lessees. In Ascension Parish, we worked with homebuilders and developers to keep onerous UDC amendments to a minimum. Also worked with homebuilders to keep increases in traffic impact fees at a minimum
