Application for Honors Elective Credit
Students may earn credit toward the Honors Elective or Experiential and Advanced Learning curriculum category for a number of course options, including: Honors Thesis, Honors Independent Study, Departmental Honors, Honors Directed Readings (used for the first phase of thesis or research projects), Honors Independent Investigations (used for research projects), Study Abroad, Upper-level Service Learning courses, Honors Internships, and Honors Capstones. In order to receive credit toward the completion of your Honors College requirements through any of the preceding options you must submit this form first and follow all subsequent timelines for the completion of these options.
 
Note: If you are taking an upper-level Honors seminar (e.g. HONR370) you do not need to submit this form.

Honors Thesis

You must submit a syllabus, signed by you and your advisor, for your Honors Thesis to the Honors College offices in Stephens Hall Room 302. If you are earning Honors credit for a thesis under another course listing, submit the syllabus for that course instead.

Honors Independent Study

You must submit a syllabus, signed by you and your advisor, for your Honors Independent Study to the Honors College offices in Stephens Hall Room 302. If you are earning Honors credit for an independent study under another course listing, submit the syllabus for that course instead.

Honors Directed Reading

You must submit a syllabus, signed by you and your advisor, for your Honors Directed Reading to the Honors College offices in Stephens Hall Room 302. The template for Honors Directed Reading courses is available at http://www.towson.edu/honors/academics/advising/resources.html, under the Syllabi Templates heading. If you are earning Honors credit for a directed reading under another course listing, submit the syllabus for that course instead.

Honors Independent Investigation

You must submit a syllabus, signed by you and your advisor, for your Honors Independent Investigation to the Honors College offices in Stephens Hall Room 302. The template for Honors Independent Investigation courses is available at http://www.towson.edu/honors/academics/advising/resources.html, under the Syllabi Templates heading (please note that Honors Independent Investigations use the same syllabus as Honors Independent Study) . If you are earning Honors credit for an independent investigation under another course listing, submit the syllabus for that course instead.

Study Abroad



Application for an Honors College Study Abroad Scholarship

To be considered for an Honors College Study Abroad Scholarship, students must submit their Honors Study Abroad Application for Credit Form by November 1 (for minimester and spring study abroad) or April 1 (for summer and fall study abroad). Preference for Honors College Study Abroad Scholarships is given to students who have demonstrated their participation and service in the Honors College.

Upper-level Service-Learning Course

You may find a list of approved upper-level service-learning courses for the upcoming semester at towson.edu/honors.

Honors Internship

You must submit a syllabus, signed by you and your advisor, for your Honors Internship to the Honors College offices in Stephens Hall Room 302. The template for Honors Internships is available at http://www.towson.edu/honors/academics/advising/resources.html, under the Syllabi Templates heading. If you are earning Honors credit for an internship under another course listing, submit the syllabus for that course instead.
