Award
The Award, in memory of Professor James Cooper, was inaugurated in 2000. It is presented annually to students at UK or Ireland universities. The Award will be presented at the Logistics Research Network Conference dinner. The successful candidate will receive a personal cheque, a certificate and the James Cooper Memorial Cup (for one year, to be returned the following year) – presented at the LRN Conference Dinner on Thursday 7 September at TU Dublin, as well as a guest invitation to the dinner.
Open to
Individuals in logistics and transport who have graduated with the Award of PhD between 1 May 2023 and 30 April 2024. (Re-submissions will not be accepted.)
The Award is for research that
- makes an original contribution to the field
- is directly relevant to the management of logistics and distribution
Submissions must clearly demonstrate the above criteria and may be submitted by the individual or their supervisor.
Each submission must
- clearly state the purpose, approach, findings, contribution, practical impact and a ‘non-academic’ summary
- clearly demonstrate the originality of the research and how it makes an original contribution to the field and be submitted on the following electronic form
The award selection
If required, candidates who reach the short list may be invited to give a short presentation to the Logistics Research Network Committee of CILT(UK).
