ABOUT THE APPLICATION

Application for: Temporary Use of the County ROW for Installation of Outdoor seating

This application is for temporary placement of tables and chairs, fences, and other ancillary property for the purpose of the outdoor serving of food and drink only. Installations shall not be permanently affixed to the County's right of way. The permanent installation of any property within the County's right-of-way requires a Franchise Agreement with the County of Hudson. Applications for Franchise Agreements are processed through the Hudson County Planning Board.

Please allow for a processing time of one week on all Outdoor Seating Applications.

Q1: How do I know if I need to apply for a Hudson County temporary license agreement for outdoor seating?

A1: You need to submit an application if you plan on using a county right-of-way for outdoor seating. To figure this out, please see the attached map. Any location on a County Road will need to submit an application.

 

Q2: Is there an application or permit fee?

A2: No, there isn’t an application fee.

 

Q3: What other documents are necessary to get an approval?

A3: In addition to completing this application, applicants need to submit 3 additional documents:

  1. Certificate of Liability Insurance with the County added as a certificate holder. The certificate holder box should have the language below:

3. IF your establishment serves alcohol, please attach a copy of your NJ ABC Liquor Permit.
