Our mission is to raise funds in the El Dorado Community to send care packages to all the soldiers in the war zones who are from El Dorado County or have family members in El Dorado County. Our care packages are sent three times a year and they consist of thank you cards and letters from the community, schools student and the real estate community. We also send a variety of toiletries, handy wipes, DVDs & CD, games, paper backed books, pens, pencils, & snacks. The latest edition to our packages is a gift certificate for a dinner at Henry’s Restaurant in Placerville, courtesy of Red Hawk Casino; we call it “The Yellow Ribbon Rib Eye”. All “excess” funds are used to provide scholarships for returning service members with the same criteria to attend the college level school of their choice. Just added to our menu, we now offer home buyer “scholarships” for veteran/active military home buyers in El Dorado County. These funds are issued after escrow has closed and when requested by their local El Dorado County Realtor, until the year’s allotment of funds is exhausted.
