All about you!

Please note that we strongly encourage you to fill out this application on a computer - NOT A MOBILE DEVICE!  Some of your answers may be cut off or excluded when a mobile device is used, and we may not be able to effectively screen your application.

Thank you for applying for a cat from Camp Cocker Rescue! Your application is the foundation of your adoption process, so please take your time in answering as your answers will help us to assess a potential match.

 - The Primary Adopter should be the person filling out and submitting this application - with your own email address & phone number.  A friend or relative should not fill it out for you!  We need to hear directly from you, to best get to know you!

- If there is a Co-Adopter, please supply their own email address & phone number as well.  It is important for us to be able to reach both adopters directly.

Our cat adoption donation fee is NOT FREE.  Adopters looking for a free animal can find one at many municipal animal shelters.  The adoption donation is $175, this donation does not even come close to covering our costs of rescuing, vetting, and preparing a cat for adoption - often including significant medical expenses.

Thank you SO much for your support of animal rescue!

And finally . . .

Before any adoption can take place, a home safety check must be done with all members of the household present. *
Camp Cocker vets all of the animals that we rescue, however because we are rescuing these animals from shelters, there is no known medical history on them.  We recommend that within a week of adoption, you take your new cat in to see your own vet and get a general check up so you and your vet have a baseline from where to begin.    *

Camp Cocker Rescue is a nonprofit organization (tax id #20-8687566).  We hope you understand that you are not purchasing a cat from us, but that this is an adoption, and that you are making an adoption donation to support our rescue group as a whole.  Each animal that we rescue represents considerable expense - almost always significantly more than will be covered by adoption donations, and we rely heavily on fund raising to make up the difference.  The adoption donation for a cat is not free, however we do ask potential adopters to make a donation that they are comfortable with and that is in the spirit of supporting our rescue group as a whole.

Before leaving with a cat, every adopter must sign an adoption agreement and make the adoption donation.

There will be a two week trial period where if for any reason the adopted cat is not going to work out, we will refund your full donation and void the adoption agreement.

Please find out if your employer has a matching donation program too, that is amazing when an adopter can get their donation matched!

If you would also like to consider being a monthly donor of our rescue, in any amount, you can directly help us rescue more animals!  Signing up is easy at www.campcocker.com/donate!

 *
At any time, for the life of your adopted Camp Cocker cat, you can return the cat to us.  We specifically request that you do not ever give your cat away if you can't keep him/her or if your life circumstances should change.  We really want to be a lifeline for your cat for the rest of his/her life. *
Thank you so much for your patience and time in filling out this lengthy adoption application.   We put a lot of effort into trying to match adopters to a cat that is compatible with their lifestyle and needs.  As a result, we have a significantly lower return rate than most other rescue groups.

It may take us longer to find a cat the exactly right home, but in the long run, it saves the cat getting moved around from home to home and it also saves our adopters the frustration of getting a pet that may not meet their expectations.  We hope that you will appreciate how much time and effort we put into the rehoming process of each and every animal.

Thank you so much for your support animal rescue!
