The Surge Coding Apprenticeship is designed for women and people of color who have some technical experience and are committed to a career in the software/coding industry. This is a 12-month full-time employment opportunity combined with on-the-job learning and related classroom and self-paced instruction. Prior to starting the apprenticeship apprentices will participate in a 4-week pre-apprenticeship training to prepare them with the digital, technical, and soft skills needed to be successful.
The Surge Coding Apprenticeship Coordinator (SCAC) will teach and be a key player in the apprentices' success as they are given real tasks and responsibilities in relation to the apprenticeship job role. This will allow apprentices to grow your knowledge in the industry and contribute to overall business goals and objectives, while still learning new skills. The SCAC will also act as your workplace mentor and support you in the day-to-day tasks and activities.
By the end of the apprenticeship, apprentices will have the opportunity to enter a permanent full-time position as a jr. software developer, entry-level software developer, quality assurance analyst, and/or data analysts. Opportunities, occupations and timeline may vary by employer.
